Yeh, if you want it to last, make sure you never plug an ipod or iphone into it!
I've killed four of them now.
I won't buy any more, which is a shame because if it was more stable and reliable it would be the only radio system I'd ever need.
Been there, done that. Transmitter is the problem, receiver should be fine. Try another remote or receiver to confirm.
Normally to get more steering throw you'd move the steering arm linkage on the hub closer to the pivot point, or make the servo arms longer. Takes about 5 minutes. Whilst what you've done is clever,...
That was a rough example I gave there, whether it be true or not.
In any case, its possible the motor could temporarily pull that high amount of amps if its available from the battery.
I've killed a remote with a firmware update.
So far, it's been cheaper for me to buy a new one than to post it back to the US for repair.
When it happened to me there was no explanation from...
Its not the voltage that'll kill an ESC alone, the current does too.
Just because you have a 7.2 / 8.4v lipo and the ESC can take 9.6v, that 9.6 is only on NIMH which may only deliver 100 amps. ...
Have you tried the radio with some good alkaline batteries? If you have a docking station, make sure its not charging the phone, incase thats taking power.
Have you got the speed control set for high speed timing?
Changing it may help?
I prefer the look and feel of the TQI over the TQ, though I did take the steering wheel of my 2.4 and fit it to the TQI cause I prefer the bigger wheel (interestingly enough, the TQ radio with the...
Correct All work with each other, you just don't get telemetry unless you have TQi tx and rx together.
I will just point out doing it my way isn't for a pernament thing, its just to try it.
What'll happen is the last 20% of throttle will all be the same, and 20% of reverse will be 'missing'.
Flicking the 50/50 to 70/30 just makes the receiver think you're holding it 20% back all the time. It's not an electronic feature, its a mechanical one. The simplest way to correct it if you just...
I put summit diffs into my ERBE, and found I had to cut the outer plastic drive shafts down by a quarter inch on one side to get them to fit. Does that limit my choice for upgrade driveshafts to...
Cool, thanks. I have plenty of spare plugs, so I'm sure I can arrange something.
Just a quick one for someone who can shed some light on the matter, I've put some Summit bumpers onto a Revo, what voltage are they, or where would they normally plug into?
I don't think the parts are available yet. I keep checking stores and ebay and stuff but nothing yet.
I have three cars I'm ready to trick out, so I hope the bits are available soon.
Marketing department probably did it on purpose: that way they know what the next transmitter upgrade will be.
Like whenever they design a new car they do the sports model first, then somone has...
Has anyone done any other radio mods that would be of interest to the geeks with too much time and spare electronic parts at their disposal? I'm thinking things from the practical to the stupid, such...
Don't know if its just my luck of the draw, or what but I think this would have to be one of the best engines I've ever used in 15 odd years of playing with toy cars.
I have a 3 year old Nitro...
Which remote would be the primary one?
In a stock TQI you'll notice the front of the board (the aerial) has no other circuitry or components near it.
Is there a possibility of interference or...
Are you looking to have / make use of the dock station and an iphone?
If not, I suggest you just do what Jimmy Neutron did and do it with 2 TQ transmitters to keep cost down.
The non docking station has 4 x AA batteries in the bottom in a 2 wide 2 long configuration (all are seen from the top).
Docking station models have a 4 x AA battery holder like in a nitro RC car...
Are there different gearsets available? For example is there a summit ratio set and and another faster set or anything?
I'm not sure, just looking at the kits on ebay and ratios aren't mentioned.
