    RD,

Yeah, I suppose that's true. I was just trying to "have it all" so to speak:

I like the durability of 17- or 23-mm sized hexes, rather than the MT-standard 14-mm.
    I like the...
  2. 17-mm Hexes

    Roy and Misbehavin',

Thanks for your replies. Hmm. I'd prefer not to have to do any shimming. One of the many reasons I prefer my current RD 23-mm hexes to the Pro-Lines I was running before is...

    Misbehavin',

Thanks for your reply. I have a follow-up question, if I may:

I'm not sure why I'd need to shim between the hex and the axle carrier. If the hex hub fits snuggly on the axle, it...
  4. RD 8-mm Axles & 17-mm Buggy Hexes

    Mis',

I've been running RD Racing's very well-made axle carriers, 8-mm axles, and 23-mm hexes. I noticed in your description of your Revo and setup system, that you use 17-mm hexes for doing the...

  7. Cutting the Tires

    dzstr,

Can you explain where you cut the tires to make them fit? I'm thinking about doing the same thing with some Losi Zombie-Max tires.

    Thanks.

    Right. I understood.

    Disassembly:

    Step 1.

Take off the wheels, hexes, and pins. Disconnect the tie/steering rods.

    Step 2.

    OR...

You can simply unscrew the pivot balls from the outside, using the socket built into the pivot balls for camber adjustment.

This way, you don't damage the surface of the pivot balls.

    Hitec TG Servos

    t9dragon,

I've been using HSC-5997 as a steering servo and the HSC-5996 as a throttle/brake servo for perhaps 3 months now. The 97 has enough torque and enough speed, as far as I'm concerned. ...

    Tony,

Thanks for the photos. What's the point of adding the vinyl covers to the wheels? Is it to keep out mud, reduce aerodynamic drag, or give the truck the look you like?

    AWDt-maxx,

Those foams are designed for Maxx-sized tires and wheels, not 40-series.

Most tires come with foams. The Road Rages do, for example. Check before you order tires to make sure.
