I have the sidewinder 3 speedo. Not the MMP. Yes I have the 1406, 4 pole 5700kv. I looked in the manual and really didnt get a clear yes or no, just not a good idea.
Well I did end up with the 5700kv motor. I got my jaco foams and wheelie bar. Now, I have to lower the CG and to do that I'm adding down travel limiters inside the front and rear shocks. I also...
Thats what I suspected Petertje60. I also talked to CC today and also found out that voltage is relative to torque. The 5700kv motor is the fastest motor (relative to the others, ie: 6900kv and...
Hmmm.....thats interesting. Even though the 5700kv is a 4 pole motor the extra torque should allow you ro gear up alittle. So was getting a 5700kv a waste over,.......lets say a 3800kv?
This is what my rusty has on it, big bore shocks, rpm gearbox, rpm shock towers hubs and arms, full ball bearings, traxxas aluminum bellcrank, aluminum steering and camber links. 5700kv motor on...
70mph out of a 1/10 r/c is crazy fast!!!!!!
I will be changing the gearing. How can traxxss advertise 70mph+ with 3s lipo and gearing? Considering that velineon motor is 3500kv and the motor I'm going to be using is 5700kv. In...
I wasnt looking to get 100mph.......but 70 mph or so is good enough.
This is a old thread, but I'm working on a hi speed rusty as well. Sidewinder 3 speedo with a 5700kv motor. Im going to try this on 2cell lipo then go to 3 cell. Im getting wheely bar and jaco...
I hear that. I only use aluminum where I need the strength that plastic doesn't provide. For bashing plastic does great and yes the weight of the aluminum does add some traction. Although if you...
I just got the RPM gearbox conversion. I wasn't going to give proline $90 for theirs. I found the fitment to be tight for a rustler and didn't have any issues with screws stripping or anything. I...
Find out what the rules are.....motor speedo..etc. Look and talk to other racers and what tires they are running. Believe it or not, tires are about 75-80% of setup. Then practice, practice,...
I put a center diff in my rally and going to see how it works this weekend.
Got the rally back out on the track today. I tested losi springs....blue fronts and green rears. I have found, for my track that this combo is a bit soft. Im going to go back to stock progressive...
Welcome to the gang....lol! You'll love driving that car.
I would run whatever proline recommends and them and if proline doesn't offer a recommendation I would probably start with 30 weight oil and go from there.
So far my suspension setup is simple. You have seen most of it. I did however up the shock oils to 50 wt. front 40 wt. rear and TiNi shock shafts.
Thanks Diggerpede :-)
I was going to die reinstall them and give the arms a slight twist to see how flexible the stock ones are to the RPM ones.
Okay proper suspension tuning and set up is important and dont get me wrong I love rpms durability. Also being responsive is important. By all means i'm not complaining....but i'm used to racing...
Has anyone noticed that the stock arms on this car are like a carbon composite? I'm going to have to check by re-installing and doing a slight torque twist test. Stock arms may be stiffer?!
Thanks guys......BTW......RPM has some new stuff for the 2wd trans in slash, rustler, bandit, pede, and MJs
I want to do some further updates....like test losi springs on this car and play with roll centers. I also love how strong the brakes are on the velineon system. I do have a Spektrum radio system...
Hello all here on the Rally forum. I have been lurking around here for a while and seen the builds of others rally cars. I just got a rally about 2 weeks ago and I love this car! Anyways some of...
