Whoa...I almost missed this part and had to read it again. So it is more expensive to build from scratch and only buying the parts (upgrades) I'd want? I thought it would be cheaper.
Nice! Good looking rigs you have there! Good luck with the race!
Go for it. I would get VXL version over the less expensive XL-5. Costs $100 more but has upgrades that would cost more than $100 if bought separately.
Popoxx: Would you mind posting your parts list for this build like you did on your E-Maxx build?
Awesome job on both builds!!! I'm drooling.
Thanks, Don
That's a cool looking truck! You've got me thinking about a E-revo now...how am I going to sell this idea to my wife?
That sounds like a cool idea. We don't get snow here but once every 15 years or so...but tomorrow they say it'll be 1-3 inches! I'm definitely going to be playing in it!
I ordered one Tuesday and it will be here tomorrow! I can hardly wait to try it in the snow that we never get here in south Alabama!
Oh yeah, batteries:

My 5 & 7 year olds are the good drivers - each have a VXL. My 10 year old does ok, but when he and the 16 year old are running their cars it looks like a demolition derby in the front yard -...
or plastic dip a mmm, but it voids the warr.
Just bought one from allerc (link above) and used discount code yahoo10 and got 10% off and free shipping. $98.96 Now that's a deal!
You could call it a remote controlled sledge hammer.
I'm thinking about getting a new rustler. Is the VLX worth it or should I get the titan and upgrade to a Mamba Max?
I'm running a MM 4600 in my current rusty & also in the pede wityh good...
Orion: Sounds like you are on the brink of a new MMM system yourself.
I'm getting ready to go brushless in my 3905. I know the BL edition onf the E-Maxx comes with a MMM. I've also seen E-Maxx running with 2 Velineon motors.
Which should I get & why?
Thanks!
Thanks for the info...glad the upgrade was already in the design.
I see Traxxas makes an extended length chassis that can be bought for the e-maxx. Are these for the 3906 or 3905?
Since I have mine apart, is there any benefit to extending?
Great looking Maxx & Revo. I'm just beginning my upgrades to my maxx due to the suspension & steering linkage break I had this afternoon. This thread is a great source of info for a durability...
