the kit comes with everything you need.... i did remove the reverse cause the engine would jerk it pretty hard.... i run a 16 clutch bell because i like the low end power..... no metal gears just...

I have a novak brushless and I just blew my idler.... the traxxas book said not to use an aluminum idler 1996x with the steel top gear 3195. Do you need to change out the 3195 to a 3195x too?
you have to gear down if you read my earlier post on the different gearing you will notice that the slightest pinion change makes a huge difference in speed and torque. and this rusty kills my...
If your using the stock servo change it out. Mine was twichy and could not hold a straight line either. (maybe your problem)

I am using dirt hawg tires..... used a stop watch and 60ft avg the times and wow 45mph for about the first 2-5 mins. (these were full speed passes not from a stand still)
forgot to add...... put in some trinity blue springs in the rear and lean you low until the engine quits after 2sec of squezzing the fuel line.... you can keep the high richer since it does not...
my max is geared at 16x72 with the xtm engine wheelies no problem ...geared at 18x72 not happening unless in grass.
I get 10-15 mins on cheap radio shack 2000 (almost a year on those batts) using a superbrain . geared at 15x87 speed 45mph wheelies at every start. geared at 18x87 no wheelies but speed 48-50 ......
My problem was that the antenna seperated from the receiver...I just soldered another 30g wire to the receiver (little longer too)works great. I will never run without a failsafe again.
