Depends on ambient temps. Mine took over half an hour to cool down yesterday due to it being 106 with the heat index and 97 in my garage.

There's one of your problems. You don't drop the spur to gear down and try to cool the motor down. You would raise the spur and/or drop the pinion. So you're:

I've never seen the amps capable of the Sidewinder published but it's got to be more than 80A. The 3800kv motor is good for 800 watts and with just an 8.4v battery, it would yield 95A.
