rc excitement is in fitchburg
i have always wanted to check it out
i second the losi springs suggestion - they are a huge improvement
it could be the start of your motor failing
if you push it while engaging the throttle does it take off?
also flurry of posts on burned out motors which i would bet is due to motor mount bearing failures in many cases
just do a search for king headz or motor mount bearing
also look at upgrade recommendations and you will see that an alum motor mount and bearing is always at the top of many lists
Yes I agree that some dont ever have the problem. As I posted above, from my online research it seems to be happening to people who bought in the past 9 mos to 1 year
The mystery is what has...
This same situation also happened to me with a new ultimate - a friend of mine has two regular slash 4x4s that also had the same problem. Be careful as the fried motor mount bearing can cause the...
i also fried mine - check your motor mount bearing
i highly recommend upgrading to the king headz mount with larger bearing
gpm works great
I run stampede wheels/tires
I have had issues with the rear driveshafts breaking but I replaced them with slash 4x4 rears and havent had any issues
The slash 4wd axles definitely seem stronger
the shock towers are a common place to have stripped holes
if you search the forums you will find posts regarding the screws holding the shocks to the towers coming out
I got the king headz mount and have gone through the two motor mount bearings that came with it.

the binding wasnt with the center driveshaft as i had thought
after trying it again, it seemed that the rear most part of the slipper was rubbing on the plastic around where the...
Your motor is fried probably due to overheating
1. send it back to traxxas and get a new one
2. get the king headz motor mount which will help
3. stick with conservative gearing 13 or less...
The tightness is with the center drive shaft after i install the slipper (not with the slipper itself)
With the stock setup, the center driveshaft easily moves back and forth
With the reco...
I got the revo slipper clutch and am having some issues installing it
If I use the same hole on the slipper shaft to mount the pin as the stock setup, the nut won't tighten up to the spring.
If...
Andy
this is a common problem and i agree with you that it is unacceptable for the servo to break so easily on something fairly expensive
the ******* 390 is great - i have had one for months...
Your story is a unfortunately a common one
Traxxas is having some serious quality control issues with their electronics and the slash/pede 4x4s are undersized for the platform so they have the...
i wouldnt recommend wasting anytime with the stock servo since you will just break it again
get the ******* - it is awesome
hitec 85 and 5085 work but you will need to get the losi crawler...
depends - if you want to run 3s mostly i would get the 2400 which will also require at least rear mip or tekno driveshafts
if you run 2s mostly then get the 3800 which wont require any other...
in my opinion the stock esc/motor is not up to the task for the slash 4x4
it tends to heat up even on 2s and especially when the defective motor mount design roasts the bearing.
if you want a...
