New to Nitro
I have just got a revo 2.5 from ebay as a starter to nitro. The truck has been stood and not used for 6months and it sounds like it wants to fire but just wont click. Fuel is passing to the carboreter so struggling a little. Do i need to have a go at stripping / Cleaning the engine or just take it to my local hobby shop and ask them to look at it?
Any help or advice would be appreciated.

By doing a proper engine break-in and running it.

piston sleeves get stuck usaully when not run for a while(old or new)

Is the engine turning over? If so its not the piston. Get a glow starter and try from there, the ez starts came be a bit dodgy to put full power to the glow plug.
Also, after use rotate the fly wheel to put the piston at the bottom of the stroke, that's the largest part of the tapered sleeve and the safest place for the cooling of the engine.

Just cleaned all the engine and i can get it to go but only with my finger on the throttle. Will take it out side in morning and see if just letting it go with throttle will see it go.
Defo getting closer. any more tips would be great.
Thank you

Engine up and running and sounds nice. Only problem i have now is it is trying to move forward in idle. Is this the spring in the clutch or can it be adjusted?
-
Idle is too high either due to the idle gap too big and/or the LSN too lean.

Tried that and didnt work so stripped down the clutch and the spring was broken. now i have sorted the spring and starts easier than ever but wont move with some throttle. What have i done?
Any help would be great please anyone.
