I looked - didn't see RS3, but saw a few nice bodies. So what are the exact dimensions I need to keep in mind? Plus, the pricing on the page seems odd. The bodies are 22 euros each, I presume? Do they come pre painted or is that just for looks?
Only asking because it appears like they come that way - pre painted, decals and all.
I really just need to know what dimensions I need to keep in mind when looking for another body. I know some one has done the measurements already, so hoping that someone can pass along those numbers / parameters.
Thanks...
Cool website Humay!
they dont come prepainted or with decals from the guy here that have bought on that site. http://traxxas.com/forums/showthread.php?8975364-914er-s-DeltaPlastik-Subaru-bodied-Rally-1-10
the body are all 325-330mm wheelbase and are 310 width track, a few mm wider than the stock rally body 295mm.
knowing that the tekno cvd kit M6 that i was watching on ebay was the last one of the bunch, i have to get it asap LOL. now i need to get the 17mm tekno conversion.

Is this your first Tekno CVD kit? I love the one on my Slash 4x4, very good setup.
I'm picking up some batteries for my gauge on the way home from work. I'll get those pin measurements for you if you still need them.
no DiggerPede, this is my 2nd set. i like them soo much i just have to get another one for my Rally. i had it on my rally first but, i transfer them to my XO-1 and my Rally atm have the stock driveshafts, i'm afraid to run them on 4s :) i still have to get the 17mm conversion though, maybe by next week i'll order it.

is it just me or you guys got the new photobucket again?
i'm curious, do you guys know if they sell the prographic rally body? i kinda want to paint it different color beside blue, orange, red, & green. maybe i'm not looking hard enough lol.
I just got new Teknos for the front of my SSC. Just need to get 17mm adapters to finish it off. Which way are you going with the 17mm adapters? Are you going Traxxas of Tekno?
i had the traxxas already so i'm going to try the tekno 17mm hexes.
That is funny. I want to try the Traxxas now.
Quick question. Are you going to run protrac arms on the Rally again? If so I hope you bought the Tekno kit that comes with the protrac bones.

We have ways around that lil snag lol. Ya, he's gonna have to if he uses the arms too. Sounds to me like he is shooting for stock width, Tekno bones, and Tekno 17's. In that case, he's covered.

Looking at the Tekno set and I wonder, it looks like it may leave you a few mm shy from stock wheel set up. I would love to nail down some solid notes on these details as we go..

how so? is it because tekno uses thinner 12mm hexes than the stock?
how so? is it because tekno uses thinner 12mm hexes than the stock?
No they are the same width. He is comparing the stock 12mm to the Tekno 17mm. Buggy wheels have 0 offset and the stock slash 4x4 has a lot of offset.
i got my Tekno M6 today,

i used the 1.5 degree angle and i didnt like how toe-in it was so i switched the carriers left to right and right to left....perfect toe in, just how i wanted it to be.
front installed

the 12mm with stock wheels still pretty tucked in with my PF8. 17mm with buggy wheels, its getting there but still not the look that i want, with pro trac arms its just right.
It is hard to tell. But one of these is Protrac and the other one is stock arms both with Tekno 17mm hubs.

rear stock arm and front pro trac.
My thoughts on being a few mm shy of stock.... I was revering to the stock set up, compared to standard Tekno with 17mm adapters. Looks like you would loose a couple mm with just the adapters, then buggy wheels... seems it could come up a bit short.
Maybe digger has the trx adapters to compare to Tekno.
interesting thought, i'd like to see this side by side comparison.
Dread, I do have Traxxas Slash 4x4 adapters that I can take a picture of. (got your PM) I can do the quarter thing or shoot them SxS if you like with the Tekno's (which I have to). Bummer i'm at work right now. Plant is down so i'm working a little later. I'll sneak to the work space after I hug the family and get kisses. LOL

K, i'll do the trx sl4sh, sl2sh, and xo1 hex with a quarter for scale, you do the tekno and trx sl4sh and any others you have next to a quarter. This will give us a reference to how far out or in the 17mm hex will sit. We should make note of the pin/fastener and where its located visually. That gives the mounting point for each hex. The amount of material extended from that pin to the wheel side of the hex is how far each extends so keep the pin whole visible.
Humayrayakongkinaon, would you like these pix in your thread or we could post a new topic? Your thread friend, so, your call....
What about the Pro-Line ones? I know they are for 2wd offset but I have 2 sets so I actually have a set of 4x4 offset....
With 2wd, the fronts are about 3mm longer than rear. Same as the hex behind the wheel. A 4wd slash trx set will be 4 rear from a 2wd so you could gain about 6mm outside the carrier over stock set up. That also means you could use the same sliders/shafts. I imagine Proline's non-protrac set is the same as trx to keep things uniform.

Cool vid, looks to be pretty fast. What r u geared at, and whats ur guess on top speed?
Very nice! I watched one of the other videos (taken on the hood of the SUV). This thing is sweet in action
thanks guys, not really sure how fast its going but it sure is moving fast and i gear it mod1 38t/15t.
heres my Rally GT8 next to my XO-1 GT8

I saw your run vid, that thing flat out hauls!!! How does it handle at speed with the shorter wheelbase? You did a great job with the build!
AB
it handles superb, a little bit better than my Rally GT8, its easier to control at top speed maybe because of the undertray diffuser? i guess lol.
See if this helps ya my friend. I couldnt not fing a quarter or any change for the life of me. Little guy hits us up for candy/ toys at those little dispensing machines. Of course the all mighty penny are everywhere. I just went ahead and took pics and got the handy dandy digital gauge back in action. Sorry for the delayment on this info.

End to End measurements. The 100th place measurement bounces real quick, so those could be rounded up to the 10th place. Not that little bit makes a whole lot of difference. Hopefully this helps out. I can still try to locate a quarter somewhere if need be which would keep the reference better to the scale of what dread is doing.

BTW love your pic man!!! ;)
this is great info, i'd never guess that tekno 17mm is a bit shy over the slask 4x4. thanks DiggerPede.
So I am curious on how the xo1 hubs compare to the Teknos? I just ordered the xo1 17mm hubs and the revo 17mm.
So I am curious on how the xo1 hubs compare to the Teknos? I just ordered the xo1 17mm hubs and the revo 17mm.
why did you get the revo 17mm hexes? are your tires rub the wheelwells?
Is that xo-1 gt8 cut down, like the chassis and the brace? It looks longer 10 post back. Really nice rigs by the way.
yep, it was a 1/7 XO-1 at one time but my plan was to turn it into a 1/8 :). you'll see my build thread at XO-1 section.
why did you get the revo 17mm hexes? are your tires rub the wheelwells?
I am rebuilding my SSC chassis back into a rally. I got inspired by aburg2's thread and I ordered a blue rally body. I have another protrac kit on the way and I am worried that the xo1 17mm hubs are too wide for that body. So I got the revo ones just in case. I guess I was inspired by you too. lol
