figured i would give you a bump . hows the project going?
-
Thanks 50togo, I had an order for 5 pinewood cars for next weekend. That keep me real busy. Still waiting on my dogbone and cups. I hope the supplier can get it together soon.
-
Good luck. Hope its on its way soon
-
well, best of luck with the rest of the final touches to your build
-
Well I spoke with Dan Kershaw today about the front short dog bone for LST2 mod order issue. And it is an issue with the supplier failing to make the order. But he says that he has a large order for these and will soon put them on his web site as an E-Revo dog bone LST2 kit. So be looking for it on his web site. Should not be long now. As for the pinewood derby I have to host races for the next 4 weekends. Lots of fun though.
-
Waiting on my lst2 dogbone kit still. He told me last week that the front dog bone should be here this week. Did he give you anyidea of time on them?
-
He said he was going to check on the order today. But when the supplier is behind who knows. I want this in my E-revo so I will wait for it. Its not Dan's Fault. He did not give me a time frame. He was hoping to have them today but today was MLK day so nothing was moving in the mail.
-
Thanks for the response. I agree with wanting them as well. Over the traxxas cvd/losi cup with washers I think the dogbone setup will be way stronger.
-
clp, i hope it's soon because i can't wait to see what you think of the kershaw chassis. I'm glad i found his site. i've been doing a bunch of business with him lately.
-
Has anyone used this before http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail.php?prod=rcmrevocoupler&cat=33
-
Thanks guys, I am busy with other things at the moment with the cub scouts in my area but I am looking forward to getting this done. 50togo I have those written down in my initial parts list but that was before I decided to use the Kershaw Dog bone. All I can say is if RC- Monster Mike I think his name is Sells it then it is tough to beat and it should work.
-
Hey what's the latest? Get your parts in yet
I am now busy with my e maxx and 1/8 scale diffs
-
Well Dans supplier is the hold up. They can not seem to get the orders right. I'm still waiting. I know it will be worth the wait. Just wish it was not so long. Racing pinewood derby cars. My son won first overall in our pack race today.

Broke a bulk head?
Only thing I have broke on my Summit was a drive shaft..
-
He must have hit a concrete curb will we where running the cars at the school the other day. He was showing out for a girl. Go figure. He and his sister made honor role and they both wanted some wheels and tires for there trucks. So I got them the 23mm hubs and each a set of proline weld bead locks and a set of 40 series trencher x's.
Here is a couple of pics.
Broke bulk head. Skid plate was missing in action.

Finished truck with new tires.

So I got them the 23mm hubs
23mm.....??
-
Yes i swapped the 17mm in favor of the 23mm hubs.
-
Aloha CLP, did you get a chance to run the OFNA inserts yet? Looks like it would be good for the street tire. Wanted to know if it's good for off road tires too. Thanks
-
reason I was checking I have the 24mm for the 1/5
http://traxxas.com/forums/showthread.php?8922029-SumRevo&p=5182770&viewfull=1#post5182770
what did you son think of working on his truck...?:)
-
I double checked they are 23mm from proline . The wheels are the weld cheyenne 40 series bead locks #2680-01 there like $10 for 2 on eBay right now. But the hubs are made by ACNCM on 23mm with o-ring pin retainers. They where $25 on eBay. My boy has the ADHD so they tell me, I think its just a boy wanting to run and play. So he has a hard time focusing on task at hand. I had to call him back to the truck a few times. But so long as he was turning a screw or doing the work he was enjoying it. Took longer than it should but it was a memory in the making right. I loved every minute of it.
As for the OFNA inserts they are very nice and i believe they
are made Goethe off-road tires so they will do fine. They are a bit more firm that the stock inserts though.
-
loved every minute of it.
Cool....Qulity time that is all that counts.....
I have seen the 23mm, can you get a few pic of the 23mm with o-ring pin retainers
that I have not seen....

If you need new bead locks, this price is hard to beat. A pair (2) is normally 40 bucks or more and they are getting hard to find.
-
Yeah I bought 2 sets of 4 for 40 bucks. Get them quick.

Pics of 23mm hubs on the stub axle. It uses an 8mm lock nut on the stub axle.

-
doh, told you I'm getting old, the O'ring hold the pin in the stub shaft..
thanks for the pic, how is the wheel wobble..does it need a spacer behind the hub??
they should run pretty true.........
-
I have a set of those same 23mm adapters. I had no idea what all the parts were. They were in the bulk of parts my brother and I bought a few months ago.
There are 3 kinds of 23mm adapters in the box.
Edit: I went ahead and ordered a set of those rims for my summit.
-
The machinest made the hub with a small spacer on them already. They do have some movemeint but that is the small hex nut allowing that. I think hpi makes a nut with a larger flange. But this should be fine for my boy. Because he can tear up an anvil. :)
-
they have a step "shoulder" on the back of the hub, so it runs on the bearing..:)
Because he can tear up an anvil
hehe I know what you mean...lol
-
That's right. The ACNCM has a shoulder to ride the bearing. And the fit is very snug to the stub axle. So if your stub axle has any bending from big jumps you may have to replace it before you can install these 23mm hubs. I had to replace one of the front stubs on the sons summit because the hole was flared where the pin goes through the stub axle. I tryed filing it down and sanding it. But it was just not happening. So I replaced that one.

Some wheel adapters that came with the Revo lot we purchased last year.
had no idea what some of them were till I saw the ones CLP bought.

Still have no idea what those gold rings at the bottom right of the bin are for.

They look like they could be some kind of shims or spacers.
-
who would need that many pivit ball caps.........?
I think I wound get a set of alum if I needed that many......lol
check out the 24mm(?) extenders lower right......
-
The extenders are 23mm I believe, not sure how they get fastened to the vehicle though, maybe a center shaft nut, like on the traxxas 17mm adaptors for the Rustler/Bandit
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXAVTE&P=ML
Oh, and the reason for all the pillow ball retainers is that the guy I bought the parts from had 6 Revos and his buddies all had revos and they all had RPM arms and knuckles on them, and these are the stock pillow balls from the trucks.
Oh, and those bead lock wheels came in today, what do I look for when purchasing tires to fit these bead locks.
-
Any proline series 40 tire will fit them. You just need the flat inner bead instead of a square bead like some other tires have. If they have a square bead you can you can cut it off just behind the square and save the cut off for mounting tires because it is a strong rubber band.
