Hello:
Maybe I am going to get a summit and I have some questions about it.
1-What is the stiffest spring I can use for the summit? (I you have a chart, please, post it;))
2-What is the stock gearing?
3-What is the lowest gearing i can use? (with more torque and Include aftermarket pinions;) )

Summit shocks
rear double yellow 4.9
Front double orange 5.4
Here is a chart of erevo springs. They will fit on the summit ( although they are a few mm shorter) just turn the shock collars. As you can see the stiffest is purple used primarily for racing

Charts in the Summit manual list the smallest pinion as a 12 but like ksb said already, I've seen down to an 8.
Also like ksb stated, Traxxas only makes two spring rates for the Summit...I would like to know why we can't have a notch or two stiffer. (Yeah I know for a stock summit orange is perfect but what about us guys who like to add and add and add weight to our summits due to all those little accessories we just HAVE to have;) )
They do make a blue(5.9) and purple (6.4) for the LT rockers but they are considerably shorter. The pic is a silver (also designated at an LT spring) and dbl yellow.

You could adjust the preload to match but I fear you would bottom out on the spring and lose wheel travel.

I have seen one guy put a second set of shocks on top of the stock ones.longer screws and I think he made a bracket to make it work,it was quite a while ago
