2wd slash help
I changed out the transmission case on my son's 2wd slash as the mesh cover was not tight due to stripped screws.
Anyway, before I made any changes or started any work if you held the back of the car up and spun one well the other wheel would turn in the opposite direction. Now after I swapped things out if I turn one shell the other wheel turns in the same direction.
What did I do wrong?

well i can tell you that in a 1:1 car the wheels spinning the opposite way indicates an open differential and the same indicates a locked diff of some sort.
so did you put a heaver lube in the diff or anything? if so then its probably just thick enough to spin both wheels vs. one wheel. turn car on and lightly give it gas. if both wheels go the same direction then your fine.

I didn't take the planetary diff apart. Just moved stuff to a new case and lubed it up with some marine lithium grease. It may be heavier than what was in there.

Thanks I just drove it and both wheels are going.

This is how it's supposed to work. I don't know what you did to change it.

the motor only has so much resistance to hold itself still (driveshaft) on 1:1 vehicles when you check this the driveshaft never spins. so im willing to bet that the newer/ maybe heavier lube was enough to allow the driveshaft (motor) to turn causing both wheels to spin now.
i wish there was a true ratcheting locker for rc cars though. that would be awesome.
