all brushless motors are the same, there is nothing special on the velineon just the esc.

I believe that is true of sensor less motors but I am not so sure about sensored motors. I [i]THINK[/i] water may pose a problem for the sensor but I am not sure.
sensored motors are not waterproof. the only way to waterproof one that i know that works is to use the liquid tape method to completely coat the sensor port (and connector once it's hooked up)on the motor so no moisture can get in there.
Some brushless motors have vented end bells that water could enter through. Most are sealed.

do u mean where the sensor wire plugs into the motor and where the sensor wire plugs in to the esc
