battery question
i have a 1/16 erevo i was running the mini traxxas batterys but they finally dead does anyone know what will happen if i put 2 (with a deans connector) 8.4v nimh power cell 3000mah the one that comes with the 1/10 slash on my 1/16 vxl erevo so far i was told by a traxxas employee the only problem with what i am wanting to do is the 1/16 erevo is not designed to hold 1/10 batterys and that it wont hurt the esc and i just want to make sure he is right before i risk my esc and motor

Don't put them in series, parallel would be best. Even so, the physical size of the batteries are just too big to properly fit onto the vehicle. The only place is to tie them above the motor which will throw off the balance horribly.

whats the difference between series and parallel
whats the difference between series and parallel
2 8.4v batteries in series will provide 16.8 volts of ESC frying power. 2 8.4 packs on parallel will provide 8.4v with double the rated Mah's.
In other words series doubles voltage, parallele doubles Mah (runtime).
However, those batts are way too big. It will end in disaster no matter how you slice it.
