looks good kyleb, and youll love the engine. :) good luck with the truck!
Where'd ya get the white springs?
I like the 72 body and paint. Looks good. I have the same body for mine if I ever get around to painting it. I don't wanna bash it though. LOL I'm gonna bash the stock body until there's nothein left and then maybe get a new stock body or whatever I find cheap on ebay... LOL
My mod list is very similar to yours.
6yrs without a broken shock tower? Wish I had that kinda luck! LOL I've broke 2 stock towers, front and rear bulks, a couple a-arms, about 6 shocks, front and rear skids, center rear drive shaft twice, one front drive shaft stub, ripped1st gear out of the transmission, and just last weekend blew up the 3.3... LOL

There just Traxxas progressive rate springs. Better than stock but still a bit soft for the weight of these trucks

Yea it's a sweet body. I've broken lots of parts but still never a shock tower. You should look into upgrading your rear center driveshaft. I broke 3 in one gallon before deciding to upgrade
I broke one shock tower from just landing a jump. And it was a decent landing too. The other was from a roll over without the body on. shock tower dug in the ground and snapped off.
Mine has all steel driveshafts everwhere now. RPM a-arms/skids, aluminum bulks/towers/skids/diff braces/chassis braces/bumpers. Lundsford pivot pins and probably some other stuff I can't think of right now. LOL And like you I'm waiting on my .26 Picco to arrive! :)
ok so i got my traxxas 17mm hub adapters and put them on today, mman this truck is huge now the half in offset makes a big difference. the first pic is my truck compared to my old narrow max just for comparison :) i also got my OFNA hump pack i put that on and ditched the battery box and put on my other exhaust defclector

Is there any way to keep the on/off switch while using the hump pack. Iisent it with a hump
Pack, when I plug it into the reciever it powers the truck and I unplug it to power it off??
Oh BTW forgot to mention I got a Du-Bro blu aluminum inline fuel filter and a brand new air filter and neck.
I mounted the on/off switch in the rx box when I stepped up to the hump pack. My rx box is out of a different traxxas model though and it's for the 2.4 system.
How would I wire the switch to the reciever?
Mine just plugged into the hump pack and the reciever on the other end. I got the switch made for the hump pack conversion though. I think the stock one is soldered to the battery holder. right? I think you can buy the little plug ins seperate too if you wanna solder them on your wires. Not absolutely sure about that though. My memory aint the best. LOL

Yea I found what I was looking for someone was able to help me with it. Just a whole new wire with a on and off switch
Yea, thats what I got too.
Pics of where I mounted the switch. (Pics were before I mounted it there...LOL)

You can buy the Female Connector Ends, they just crimp onto the wire.
They are $4 or $5 for 5 of them.

The easiest/cheapest way if you don't have the extra servo ends, is the $5 Traxxas #3034 switch w/plugs on it for a Hump Pack(even has a charge lead!).

just got my savox sc-0251mg steering servo in speed is0.18 and 222oz torque
its able to turn the trenchers its full radius while on the ground...impressive
More goodies to come on wendsday

Well I was out hitting a few small jumps and doing wheelies today and coming out of the ditch I noticed the engine was whining high and no movement. Turns out I've stripped my first spur gear after almost two gallons. I check the engine mount bolts and they where tight. What could have caused this?
Check the bearings in the pinion gear. I had a bad bearing in mine and it was able to wobble enough to back away from the spur and strip it.
The place I got my picco max from emailed me saying they won't have it for another 10-14 days, given their supplier has them in stock. Wich is weird cuz there still advertising that they have them in stock. Bummer...I hate waiting
That's definately a bummer. I got my .26 but it's just sitting on the chassis so far, (no time). Side by side comparrison between the 3.3 and .26 looks like an easy swap though. Height is almost identical but the .26 is going to sit a little farther back on the chassis. Exhaust is going to be a little difficult. What pipe are you planning on running? I ordered a dynamite .053 and I don't think the header is goin to fit. :(

I'm just gunna use the stock resonator pipe. Ofna clams it can drop right in with stock pipe and gearing. Performance wise it would be nice to have a buku or THS. I think OFNA makes a specific pipe for this but not totally sure. These engines are sure on high demand everyone's sold out. I wondering if there factory in Japan is pumping the
Out as fast as they can
i have the .26 also,
and sorry, im not sure if i can say this or not, so sorry mods if not.but on nitrorctalk there is a guy named racer 1966 who makes an adapter to fit a big block pipe for $17.50. and then you can fit this pipe on it http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXUAB4&P=SM . and its supposed to improve the power by alot. and yes the swap is extremely easy to do
i did a few more littl things to bruce this morning (bruce is what i named my truck)
i put on the pull start and bought a dynamite 2600 MaH metered glo driver
traxxas progressive rate springs all around now, duratrax aluminum skids front and rear
also put a switch on for the hump pack so i dont have to keep opening the reciever box to plug
in the hump pack

I got $200 to spend in the truck. Any ideas? I was looking for the buku bb pipe but can't find it anywhere. How about the buku kompisite clutch? Is it a BIg difference from stock!
Some Supermaxx goodies or Proline Powerstroke shocks would be fun.
Have you gotten the violator tank yet?

For $60 more add the Buku composite clutch to the parts bag.:)

That would be my list, post up what you ultimately decide on.:)

I ordered the buku 3 shoe clutch! I was looking at those ACNCM bulks and there made out of the same grade aluminum as my GH bulks that I already have.plus those guys don't ship international. I like to look of the aluminum shock towers but I already have the rpm ones+ a spare set of stockers. What about a good ole aluminum chassis brace
Ooops I missed that you got GH bulks!:O.o:
Maybe some Big Bore's with some RC Raven duel rates?
Chassis braces that fit the 4908/07
Polished

Thanks wild man. I'll probably bid on that last set. I already have big bores The progressive springs are decent I gueas
Hey wild man what is a good pipe and header for the picco max that fits?
Hey wild man what is a good pipe and header for the picco max that fits?
Most I've seen have run the stock resonator or the Dynamite 053 pipe.
Jammin JP1, excellent bottom-end snap and mid-range.
Jammin JP2, excellent mid-range and top end without bottom-end sacrifice.
Jammin JP3, is a 3-chamber design with all around performance, very similar to both JP-1 & JP-2 combined.

SnookMan may have a better suggestion tho!

I would go with the JP3.
Ok once again thank you
I would go with the JP3.
Nah I'm not to concerned about top speed, just torque, acceleration and wheelie poppin power
I do not know if the JP pipes will fit with no mods, Snook or NN probably do so I would wait till one of them chime in before buying one.
Wildman we will have to add "NN" to the Common-Abbreviations thread.. LOL
Well the resonators are pretty good all rounders.
As for the Jp series pipes fitting without mods, here are side by side pictures of the resonator next to it.

It looks like they have about the same dimensions. The pipe in the first picture is the jp3 by the way.
