As the title indicates, yes I was being dumb and ran the Slayer pro through a puddle.
I always try to take care of my RC's but when I decide to bash them hard, I do haha.
I was running a couple of days ago and went through some fairly deep water, nothing over the tires but water was slung all over the chassis.
I kept running for about ten minutes afterwards and nothing seemed wrong; however, when I tried to run the electronics after about an hour later they would not turn on, I'm thinking water either got into the switchor the RX itself. What should I check on first?
Check the battery first, then with a hot air blower (don't melt the parts!) try to remove any humidity left on the receiver and try again... If you can wait for a day or two without using it so everything is dry, it would be better...
Ok thanks, the battery is good, I'm gonna let it dry out for another day.
Put your electrics in a bag of rice for a day or so. It will draw the moisture out.
Ok, I heard about that but wasn't sure if it actually worked, thank you.

IT works better than most think of.
When you do this remove all connectors from their connections to help expose as much of the contacts and electronics...
Darn rice trick works with a lot of electronics.... Do not power up the electronics until you are as sure as you can be they have dired out....
Water doesn't kill electronics, water + power does though.....

You can say that again haha.
I actually didn't have time to use the rice, got busy with some work.
But I tried a new switch today that was from a different vehicle, and the light on the RX would flick on and off every time I'd flip the switch. I then tried the old switch again and it powered right up, no problems at all.
Thanks for the help guys, I gotta stay out of the mud puddles haha.
