TQ Link 2.4GHz - LED Mod
Hello Guys,
Today, I have something new for your TQ Link 2.4Ghz transmitters... A LED mod... The idea is to replace the green/red difused LED with a blue/red clear LED...
To be honest with you guys, those green/red difused LEDs are old fashion... I started using them on my bike like 15/20 years ago and they haven't changed a bit since then and they are quite dim when you're out in the sun... So...
1) Get some "5mm Blue / Red 3 Pin Common Anode LEDs"... Search on eBay for the clear ones...

2) Find the LED inside your TQ Link 2.4Ghz transmitter...

3) Remove the old difused green/red LED...

4) Remove the solder from the three holes (not with a drill bit!!!)...

5) Intall the new clear blue/red LED...

6) Put everything back in as it was before...

And, you have a 2010 version of the TQ Link 2.4Ghz transmitter...
Hope you like it...
Daniel

Uhm, you said the "old" one is dim? OK, what do we really gain from this? I don't see mine dim and don't really get what is the benefit.
Sorry, just don't see a reason to goof around with an intact unit.
-
Well, if you don't see a reason or the benefit of this mod, it's clearly not for you...
<_<

Same benefit as dying your chassis? Painting a body more than one color? It's just preference and doing something cool. I would try it if I had one, Don't want to take apart the DX3S.

Great little mod there danielhr77....As always.
Now gives me another good reason to take my 2.4 apart.
Fresh paint job and a new LED.
I will be doing the same mod as soon as I decide a color for paint.

Now more than ever I'm excited about this mod! I mean, even THOUGH it's an, "intact unit," I still... want to goof around with it! =D

I just got a TQi, so, I'll start a new thread on how to change the LED on it...
:)

I'm totally doing this MOD on my TQ Links. I just picked up 20 Bi-LEDs off eBay. Only places available were the slow boat from China. Ah well more than i'll need for a while. LOL
daniel have you done this MOD to the TQi? ;)

Installation is the same! Just ... remove the old one, and put the new one in! Needs to be a bi-led of course.
