Cheap deal at Tower Q?

How does one get the really good deal at tower. I received my RTR from AMAIN a couple weeks ago and love it. Good to get back in the hobby since being a Lieutenant at Myrtle Beach AFB in the early '90s. I want to order the Platinum now and can wait since i know Tower is way behind everyone else. I read here about people getting the platinum for a really low price of like 324 bucks. How does that work? No where to race in Wichita falls Tx but its fun to bash the RTR. Gonna suck to drive 2 hrs to Dallas/Ft Worth to race, but thats what i want the platinum for.
