4x4 On-road 2.8's
Hey guys this is my first time posting a thread.
I just got the slash 4x4 (love it) but im looking for good, pre mounted 2.8 wheels and tires
Im thinking of getting the black chrome 2.8 anacondas, and could anyone confirm if these would fit on both the front and rear of the 4x4?
its traxxas part number 3776a
heres the link...

hold on, are you sure those wheels use hex?
-
yes im sure because they are nitro rear and electric front. Im just hoping they'll fir over the c-hubs
they are the stock jato 3.3 wheels and i know jato uses same hex as slash
-
You must decide which offset you want. Nitro rears and electric fronts are the same wheel and will have a wide offset. Electric rears will give you a narrow offset, and am not sure if the rims will hit the front arms during turning. Maybe ask someone who has a set of narrow elec rears to see if they fit (if that is what you want). The wide offset will most certainly rub the body, but if pavement speed runs are what you are looking for, maybe trim the wheel wells to fit. Wide is more stable for cornering on pavement. Nitro fronts have no hex and cannot be used.
-
what do you mean by a wide offset???
i realise the body will rub a bit, but im not going to be jumping it or anything with these on, just speed runs.
-
how about electric fronts and rears?
-
so are you saying...
i should get these for the front
http://www.buytraxxas.com/product_info.php?products_id=2836
and these for the back?

yep, traxxas has them listed as optional parts for rustler.
it would look pretty good i think, but like the other guy said, you dont know if they will rub the a-arms while turning...
-
i am thinking now why cannot you just use 4 rears?... is it because the fronts have to be narrower so it can turn? but most MTs have just 4 same tires...
-
i think i could use 4 rears, but i was just looking at traxxas' wheel and tire guide and they have the front rear combo, but i'll need part # 3654 so that they dont rub
-
I would only get those anacondas if you like sliding alot.
-
dude i'm either going top speed in a straight line, or i'm driftin!!!
-

isnt that part already on slash?
-
no, i believe that that part is twice as wide as the stock slash hex's, so that it pushes the actual rim and tire a little farther out so that it won't rub

You definately want 4 nitro rears, they will work great. I am using the stampede ones all the way around and I have a set of 4 proline tork, nitro rears all the way around.
no, i believe that that part is twice as wide as the stock slash hex's, so that it pushes the actual rim and tire a little farther out so that it won't rub
oh okay. if thats the case, it makes sense. i would not know as im still waiting for my first slash to arrive...
-
really? will i need to buy that part still?
what difference does it make to run the nitro rears vs having different?
the one positive i guss would be not worrying which tires you put on!
-
is 4 nitro rears actually better than getting electric fronts/electric rear???????
or is it just more convinient?
-

you would probably still wanna get some aluminum hex hubs as opposed to plastic ones...
-
ya thats probably a good idea. Im ordering them online and i just hope they fit!!!
i think round is probably right with the 4 nitro rear all around, cause he generally knows what he's talking about on this site!
-
4x4 slash use same wheel on both f & r, you can either use nitro rear or ele rear on 4x4 slash.
-

if you look at it closely, you will see that 3776A is actually being listed as the rears for the nitro jato and as the fronts for rustler. and 3773A is being listed as the rears for rustler. i dont see how the front tires are wider than the rear tires??...
4x4 slash use same wheel on both f & r, you can either use nitro rear or ele rear on 4x4 slash.
that will probably be just fine. they like to play with part numbers, dont they? so they can confuse everyone...
-
i know for a fact that the 3776 fit on rear of the 4x4
i dont think it makes a difference which ones i get, cause both of them fit rustler front.
use this link, and it will help

i think that i should go either nitro rear all around, or nitro rear in the back and electric front in the front.
-
what im saying is it doesnt really matter what rear ones, but which front ones can i use without it rubbing the a arm.
-
im gonna go with the nitro rears all around, because in the listing it says nitro rear/electric front.
thanks for all your input guys.
-
wait what size hex are the stock slash 4x4 tires?
-
wait what size hex are the stock slash 4x4 tires?
12mm i believe
..........................i think that i should go either nitro rear all around, or nitro rear in the back and electric front in the front.
nitro rear & elec front is the SAME wheel.
BTW, I would go PL 30 series(2.8") Road Rage.... much better than conda for on-road, IMO.

how about electric rear? is is supposed to be wider than the fronts?
-
according to the website im ordering from, they are both the same dimensions

The 4X4 uses 2wd REAR wheels on both front and rear.
At least the wheels on mine say 2wd rear in them.
-
