  1. The iron is just that. An iron with a cord. Stay away from those. I bought a soldering gun from Radio Shack. It's a heavy duty dual-heat gun. 150/230 watt. Part# 64-2187. Barcode says 640-2187. I think it was around $30-35. It's a little bulky and aukward at times. You may want to look into a soldering station. They hav irons with a cord attached to a main unit. Usually have dials to control the temps. These are usually a little more expensive though.
  2. Which soldering iron/gun do you use? Didn't you have one that wouldn't cut it and have to buy a 2nd one? Which are those two? (wanna' be sure I stay away from the bad one)
