Well, after putting on my new RPM wheels (gunmetal) these brand new Tamiya tires (for drifting) and an Hpi Audi A4 Wagon body I took a few test runs. I was on my third battery during my lunch from autozone. I hit a straight away, now drifting around a turn .... psht....... it spins out and i see smoke eminting from the bottom of my poor little 4tec. I pick it up, disconnect the batter and low and behold, a nice blue smoke a burning smell coming from the motor, not to mention no throttle at all. My motor is toast.... after a week and a half. Tell me oh-wisde-ones, what badass fast motherf'er motor should i buy and what gears? Tell me, i want a 40+ 4tec

im running a Zircon speed jem 9turn double, Im sure it is doing over 40mph, but you gotta be carefull heat is a problem for these cars, IM carefull with my gearing and I dont run it full throttle the whole time im driving, also give it time to cool between battery packs. Bore out the hole right under the motor in the chassis and I put some extra holes in the transmission halfs to help cool it, If you drive it real hard you will fry the motor!!!

Not in the motor under the motor, right under the engine theres a hole in the chassis abig square hole, hog that square out. I started a thread, pics of my car theres a picture of how i did it in there.

I put hole in the chaissic and let 4-tec cool for 15 min after all runs so motor can cool.

drill holes dont work! that's my opinion, try to install a heat sink, for more info, go to http://www.davidsonwater.com/misc/stampede/pit-lane/heat-sink/heat-sink.html
