72 -16 will possibly need shims or washers to be placed under the mount screws or diff motor mounts all together i am currently stuck on 66 - 22 my self and i am loving it its a great combination for the areas that i run on

isnt the number of teeth the furthest apart eg. 16/72 will give you more torque and the number of teeth the clostest together eg. 22/66 will give you higher top speed. if im wrong please correct me.

it is not the best combo i have tried but currently it give s me the grunt force that i want for the tracks that i am running on, i have run 66-18 and found that it was good also but the 66- 22 is excellent for my road coditions and i always make a trial run and whenever needed i switch to what is better for the terrain conditions. and what ever get the win is really what matters, try a few set-ups on the same terrain and then make the call on what to run with

24/64 will give the most speed, but it will strain the engine just to get the truck to move.

I've tried the 16/72 combo. It produces nice amount of torque. Am presently thinking of installing AE flywheel and clutchbell to increase torque even more...maybe a 13 or 14t bell. Getting back to the 16/72...either shimming or modifying the motor mount will be required.

Emendija,
You don't need a AE clutch to get a 14t clutchbell. Racers Edge sells clutch bells form 14t-24t that fit the Traxxas clutch.
You can find them at www.stormerhobbies.com or your LHS.
