Well after asking a lot of questions, figured about time showed some of my work.
What fallows is what was done to a project box. It was raised and a wire sealer was added.
Will try and explain the best I can. Questions will be answered to the best of my ability, if asked.
First pic. shows the gasket use (light blue for 1/1)water pump, thermostatic, etc. used as well as the lexan.
Lexan was bought at Lowe's and water pump gasket along with finished box, wires are there so I could judge screw size and gasket compression.

Close up of top of box with one of the spacers used to raise the height of the box.

Front view of box where wires will inter. What I used for the for foam to seal is what Traxxas uses in their packaging of some of their parts. Lexan used here is different from what was used for the spacer. Thicker/stronger (had some pieces from a boat project)

End view showing the antenna brace, which is made from a swing arm that broke on my Pede. Which will get sealed before installing.

The spacer. This was made by cutting some Lexan to a close fit to the out side dimensions of the box. I then drilled holes to match the lid screw holes and screwed it down to the box (without the lid). Cut the out side to a very close fit, then took a dremel routing bit and cut out the inside. Then finished it up, buy cutting it down to a exact match.

Hope this helps some one !

Yep was using ours as my base for what I was trying to do. Just found out about an hr ago (first chance I got after finishing it) that it is to Big with the wire entrance the way I have it. So back to the drawing board.

Yep that and a challenge. Got the same box reconfigured and mounted. Will get some pics up after some shut eye LOL.
Might have to do another one tho, not to sure about the height of this one.
Jimmie you had any problems out of those tall ones of yours? Only able to mount mine with 2 screw so kinda worried about them coming lose from vibration. Na never mind a couple of sparks would fit right in with the 4th weekend fireworks

Just curious, whats the reasoning behind this? What problem are you trying to solve? Obviously a larger RX box, buy why?
Nice work BTW, very clean. Almost looks like a factory part.

Mine is housing an 8 channel Rx right now and will be adding two Rx switches and a BEC.

I have mine secured with 3M dual lock... very strong stuff.
I have to be careful with antenna height due to my lowered body, but other than that I have no issues with height.

Reconfigured Rx box.
http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n161/TritonKy/RC/Summitrecieverbox005-1.jpg

Hole in the top(lid)is so Rx light is visible, hole is filled with supper glue. Water tight. Holes in top(side on top) where so I could get to the mounting screws in the bottom before thinking of 3m double sided tape. Will be filled.

Filled the gap old Rx box was in, so could go back to stock configuration if need be.

Pavementsurfer-wanted a bigger box because of stock one being tight with wires, and need the added room as am getting ready to attempt to add some things. Also this configuration makes getting to my wires very easy, no motor removal required either.

Jimmie- Have a whole role of 3m double sided automotive tape and did not even think of using it :O.o: But come to think of it can not use it due to the spacer used encase want to back to stock configuration.
