I upgraded my old brushed Slash from the AM xmitter and receiver to a 2.4 GHz and I only got about 60 to 100 feet of range. Tried another transmitter, from my Spartan, and the range is just fine.
It is a 2242 transmitter and a 2218X receiver....any ideas as to why the short range with this Transmitter and normal range with other one?

Although the 2242 is not a high output radio, that range is very short. Have you opened it to see it the coax antenna is still plugged into the board correctly?

No I have not opened the xmitter to check the antenna connection to the board. But thanks for that info and I will do that now!!!

If the wire isn't connected, you wouldn't get more than 10-15 feet away.

I have found the problem... After trying several things and inspecting stuff, I tried the questionable xmitter on another truck and the range was fine.... So replaced the receiver and all is well:thumbup:
Called Traxxas and they said to send it to them for exchange....
