Running Issues

Hey guys I am running into an issue with my 1/16 slash. I should mention that I am running a titan 12 turn and an xl5 esc. I can run my car with the traxxas batteries stock for the 1/16 scale stuff. But I can only run for about 4 or 5 mins not even running full throttle just putting around the kitchen and the car acts like the battery is dead esc light goes dim and car slows way down after the battery was fully charged. What do you guys think is the problem I would be happy to answer any questions.

How long have you had it ( the motor). The brushes might be dead. Try it with some other batteries. Check the bearings they might be broken so that causes extra power loss. What are your temps when you run it?

How are you charging it?
What is the voltage coming off the charger?
How many cycles are on the battery packs?

Either your battery is on its last stand, or your motor is

I would say the battery because a lot of people seem to kill them off quickly by not taking care of them

Also you can check if your car rolls fine by pushing it, maybe there's a lot of binding and it's overworking everything

No the cars runs awesome when the battery is first attached to it so I dont think the motor is gone, but it could be the battery I just didnt think so being that its not that old of a battery. It still charges to just about 1200 mah which is what its rated for. it could be the battery though thats really what it acts like. Whats a good nimh replacment? Or should I just get some **** techs? I eventually plan on running a tacon motor and a different esc if that helps

Yeah, I don't know if the the brushed model takes lipos but I'd do that if it does and if you already have a lipo charger

Yeah I dont think the xl5 is designed for lipos either, but the truck is awesome when its fully powered. What batteries do you use? I have a supermate dc6 charger to charge lipos already for my 1/10 Revo.

Anymore help guys? Tried lipos and its still doing it. Unfortunatly dont have the funds to be able to put a tacon in it right now.
