According to the size difference of the Dirt Hawgs, 19T is a good start. Just watch the temps while trying.

Don't forget the weight of the beadlocks, Pete!! lol
For 3S and the locks...
18/55 might be the place to start.... especially for bashing and not just speed runs.

I tried the 19/50 and it will not mesh with the heatsink and possibly not at all. I'm running 26/50 presently with no heat issues but I do live in the mountains and it has been cold.

I have meshed 19/50 on mine without an issue.

I might try again but I'm pretty sure the heatsink was hitting the receiver box so I just used the 26 I had. I can easily be wrong, I was frustrated when I tried it.

This gearing stuff seems soo confusing. Wont your top speed be very slow with 19/55 gearing?

This gearing stuff seems soo confusing. Wont your top speed be very slow with 19/55 gearing? You can use the speed calculator (http://scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/top_speed.html) to estimate what your car will do with a certain gearing.

Yes. It will be quite slow.
That is a sacrifice one has to make when one decides to run heavy rims and tires along with high voltage with an ESC that is not quite up to the task.
