I just bought a slash 2wd and it has a brand new castle sidewinder motor in it that hasn't been ran yet. It hasn't even had the controller calibrated to it yet. I followed the instructions on pairing the two and am supposed to be getting a red light but it keeps flashing green. What do I do?

Calibrating can take a couple of tries, but have you followed the directions to the letter?

VXL-3s Setup Programming (Calibrating your ESC and transmitter)
Read through all of the programming steps before you begin. If you get
lost during programming or receive unexpected results, simply unplug the
battery, wait a few seconds, plug the battery back in, and start over.
1. Connect a fully charged battery pack to the VXL-3s.
2. Turn on the transmitter (with the throttle at neutral).
3. Press and hold the EZ-Set button (A). The LED
will first turn green and then red. Release the
EZ-Set button.
4. When the LED blinks RED ONCE. Pull the throttle
trigger to the full throttle position and hold it
there (B).
5. When the LED blinks RED TWICE. Push the throttle
trigger to the full reverse and hold it there (C).
6. When the LED blinks GREEN ONCE, programming
is complete. The LED will then shine green or
red (depending on low-voltage detection setting)
indicating the VXL-3s is on and at neutral (D).

Flashing green means the trim is too far off when you turn the controller on... playing with the trim can usually get you going, but recalibration is the better solution.

Tried all that but the LED doesn't do what the instructions say it will do. The EZ-set button is just the little black button that has "Link" above it?
And I did the trim in all different positions but still just a green light.

So you turn on the truck, and you get a flashing green? Throttle trim doesn't help either?

How about if you play with the throttle, is there any position where the green stops flashing?

Wait... what has a green flashing light, exactly? Because only the receiver has a "link" button. When calibrating a Castle controller, you hold the trigger on the Tx to full throttle before turning the ESC on, then reverse and neutral when prompted by the tones. When properly set, the light on the ESC should be flashing yellow.

lol, good call Dr....

Here I was thinking we were talking about the ESC. But Dr's right, sounds like you haven't bind (bound?) the radio and receiver yet....

Castle has a help line open during regular business hours and you can talk to someone. They've helped me before. Just make sure you have the truck in your hands when you make the call because they answer pretty fast.

Remote is bound. I took it to the hobby store today, they spent about an hour with it and couldn't get it calibrated either. I called castle and they think something is wrong internally with their product so now I have to send it to them. Definitely a hassle.
