Hi all,

I recently picked up an XO-1 and love it, but I already have the bug to make some upgrades.

Could anyone recommend a nice fast servo? Also, Looking for details on how people are attaching the servo to the drag link. I suspect the stock servo horn is going to have the wrong spline count.

Any advice from those who have done this?

I think the Traxxas splines are same as Futaba... I've bought off name brands and they fit the traxxas parts just fine.

25 spline or something???

Anyway the stock 2075 is a decent servo, I think its 125 ish on torque, and maybe .18 on speed. Not too fast, but plenty strong.

If you're on a budget I can recommend a cheapo I've been using for a while in my race rig.

Spent a whopping 18 bucks on that badboy. I've had it for a while now and really like it.

Savox also have 25T splines, so the stock horn should work.

You may want to start with the stronger Traxxas 4945 black servo saver spring. Noticeable difference.

Hi Spain, would you might (or others:-)), to explain to me, why and what difference would it the black spring make?

Is this the same spring, which Traxxas recommends for the ERBE using metall gear servos (part#5344x, which is silver)?

I have mounted a servo saver i.e. on a RC8.2e buggy, but I still dont unerstand, the change it would do to the XO-1 during high speed runs...

Thanks!

I am big fan of Savox and have used the 1257tg in all my builds, they fit right into all the Traxxas horns I have used and I will be putting them on my XO-1's..

The black spring is a stiffer spring, so the servo saver would be stiffer. If you've got a strong servo, it means the servo can exert more force on the wheels before the saver flexes.

I haven't tried the black one yet, my buddy put one in his XO...

I do think the saver has a hard time at high speed, if you like running around real fast a lot, its probably a worthwhile upgrade. I'm a don't fix it if it ain't broke kind of guy, so I'm in no hurry to replace working parts on a new car.

Thanks for all the advice. After looking around, I am going to try a Futaba BLS451. Should be a modest improvement hopefully without overloading the internal bec.
