View Full Version : Spektrum DX3R Pro

I just purchased an E-Revo Brushless and wanted to upgrade the transmitter to the Spektrum DX3R Pro but was uncertain as Traxxas says the transmitter supplied is 4-channel and the DX3R Pro is only 3-channel. Are all the 4 channels on the supplied transmitter used? Can the DX3R work with the E-Revo Brushless? The main reason for the upgrade would be to have on-board telemetry and warnings so I can easily monitor motor temperatures, ESC temperatures, Voltage and top speed. Has any one made the upgrade? What are the pros and cons to the DX3R Pro upgrade? Is it worth the money?

I believe the stock tx that comes with the erevo is only actually 2 channel. If not, that's all it functions as. Throttle control and steering. I don't see why the DX3R wouldn't work just great!

Thanks I do believe you are right. I will look into getting a DX3R Pro or even a DX3S soon. Any pros and cons anyone?

The DX3R is the way to go it gives you a whole new driving experience we use ours for our race buggy,my crawler it allows me use both front and rear dig now with the e-revo but to use the telemetry for temp you have to make sure you buy the right reciever the 3100 mini that comes with the DX3R won't work for temp monitoring as far as using the stock servos you will have to go into the mixing setting on the transmitter to make both work unless there is a way to put a y harness and combine the two servos into one to plug into one channel really not sure about all that mess I took them off and just used one spectrum servo

I have the Spektrum 2.0 but I believe the principle is basically the same regarding the dual servos: I picked up a short Y harness adapter at my LHS to solve that issue.
Good luck! The Spektrum stuff is pretty awesome!
