Okay so today I got a good bit of upgrades for my truck. But when i started it up it was stuttering like it was almost dead so i took it apart and both the front and rear differentials are stuttering. I havent opened the diffs up yet. anyone have an idea what it might be? its not the slipper clutch.

Is your gear mesh too tight, slipper bearing go bad, the bearing holder melted, 6888 broken, battery charged, running a nimh in Lipo mode or so you have a stripped wheel hex? Those are something to start with. Could be your esc. Good luck.

Some of us have installed the wrong screw when installing a new RPM front bumper.

+1 on the wrong screw. If you had the front bumper off its an easy mistake to put in the longer screw by mistake and it will go thru the bottom of the housing. The little piece of plastic that gets pushed up inside touches the gear and makes a stuttering noise. Good luck!

I took apart the whole truck and i found that in the rear i think it is the differential because i took it out of everything and only one wheel would spin and not the other. on the front i took it apart and oiled it up and it helped a good bit it isnt stuttering in the front as bad as the back. BTW: i did install gigantic tires at one time and ran it like once now it hasnt been same.

How are the bearings in the diffs? In the hub carriers and knuckles?

I have never gone that deep into the diffs so i wouldnt really know. I am pretty sure its just both diffs have failed. Im going to the hobby shop somtime this week and probably gonna see what he says when he sees whats happening and get replacement.

I have ne ER had a diff fail. That's why I keep asking all the questions. I have had a spare for a year and a half and have never had to use it. What esc are you using? Maybe it is going out or has a bad connection. Again, I wish you luck. Sounds frustrating.

I took the whole differential apart and it looks fine. I noticed one of the rear caster blocks is cracked and when the shock pushes down on the c-hub it makes the driveshaft stutter. Thats only in the rear i gotta check the front next.

Are you talking about the rear hub carrier? If that is what the problem is, replace it with aluminum!

Yeah that. I might. I got the slash up and running now but my slipper keeps slipping.... got get that in tune now :/

Ok I think I need to rebuild the slipper now because I can't get it tight enough or loose enough. The slipper will scream and make that stutter at the same time like it was too tight and loose at the same time. Do I need to buy parts to rebuild it with?
