View Full Version : ESC VXL Question...

I've read in a french web site, that the Vxl doesn't discharge both batteries the same way, the guy says that both batteries feed the engine but only one of them feeds the rest (servos and lights). He explains that you can modify this by cutting a wire inside between the vxl and the receiver and you must feed the receiver with a 6v receiver pack. Does any one do already listen or do this?:O.o:

Iv noticed this with my nimh but always chalked it up to one beeing older than the other. Havent run enough lipos check though..
Not the VXL esc but the EVX-2. The EVX-2 does drain one battery faster than the other because the one side is feeding the internal BEC. The difference between the two batteries isn't that much. You could disable the BEC and run an external BEC like the one from castle or run a reciever pack. If you do this you would have to remove the red wire that plugs into the reciever.

Correct it's the EVX-2 i messed with my slash's esc, sorry, but can i run-it this way? it's not a problem for the batteries?(nimh)
You can run it this way, that's how its meant to be. Just don't run your truck until it barely moves. Its hard on nimh batteries to drain them down too far.

The BEC issue is only a worry if you are running lipo batts The evx 2 has no low voltage alarm or cut off.lipo batts can be permanently damaged or worse if they are discharged to low.I was running a castle bec.I removed the red wire from the harness without cutting it in case i wanted to go back.unless you are running high draw servos like high torque steering servos
the stock bec will do fine
