Hey Guys,

I would have killed for some front and rear lights in this car... Maybe some nice chrome light buckets like Yokomo makes???

Imagine, this car makes 1 block in 4 seconds, so, you need to know were is facing at when you're trying to bring it back if you drive at night like I do...

lights on a rc car at night and at speed are no good. if the car is moving away from you and you try to keep it going straight the rear lights give a false direction.

Uhhh.... not sure I'm with you on this one.

High speed rc at night is probably a bad idea in general... however when it comes to rc lighting, its all about choosing lights that give you an idea of orientation. Think of airplane lights, they're designed so that you can tell direction and orientation.

The easy way around this is to use multiple colored lights on each side of the body to help with orientation. Those LED strips work awesome. Some guys will put ultra bright headlights on cars... thats cool for photos, but when driving your point of view isn't inside the car... plus I've made this mistake, you can blind yourself with your own car if the lighting is too strong.

That's what I mean, for direction and orientation, but I just don't want to drill holes on the body, I just want something profesionally made like Yokomo makes... And, I've been driving at night with my friends for the past 5 years, never had an accident... I don't drive in total darkness if that's what you're thinking, the place it's pretty well lit, but LED lights are necesary... But, I know this is wishful thinking, Traxxas will never make something like that, they still haven't released the top light bar for the 1/16 summit!!!

Well you could surface mount led strips. Not pretty, but functional at night. Or you could have a separate night body... Or if your willing to burn some maH, put a bright enough light under the body to make the whole thing glow.

Plenty of options, just gotta wait and see what people come up with.

Also night bashing can be a lot of fun, I havent been out at night in a while, but all my cars have LEDs of various complexity.

I was daydreaming about this last night.

With a car going that fast it may be beneficial to have some leds on for even day time running. This car needs to attract as much attention as possible. Just in case you happen to have that one genious that decides to walk/drive across your racetrack/parking lot. Personally i want my next body color for my erbe to be neon yellow, or neon orange, or white. Theres just too much that can go wrong when someone else doesnt see the 80 mph missle hurling at them at break neck speeds.

Also if a black or dark blue car flips in the road, chances are granny will run over it before she sees you holding your hands up trying to stop her. Ask me how i know.

Maybe traxxas needs to make roof scoop pop outs that flip the car right side up. We can dream.
