i haven't but i don't think spending $35 on something that advanced is necessary i would go to your lhs and get something basic

I've owned many temp guns the PE 2 was my first and IMO the best I have owned. Many of my cheaper temp guns have failed but my PE 2 is now like 9 years old or there about and still working as good as the day I got it. Mine is an earlier version and slightly different than the current model but they are well known for being a quality temp gun.

I have to disagree that all temp guns are the same. I do believe even a basic one is accurate enough for this hobby use but they are not all the same as far as quality and how long they will last from my experience.
