ok so here is my problem driving the car around just having fun on the wet pavement in the back yard and the car caught traction just around the corner and splash abut 20mph into the pool. jumped in pulled the car out and it ran and then started running buy itself. Now my question is traxxas says that it is water proof to what extent is it water proof could it being fully submerged for about ten second cause it to die?
thanks
PS i know it sounds stupid but dont hate on having fun hahahaha:wacko:

Leave it unplugged. Open up the receiver box, and let the whole rig air dry for a day or two. Works for a non-water-resistent laptop, ought to work for a water resistent R/C car (NOT waterproof, tho, Traxxas states this in the manuals).
Others here might have experience on keeping a dunked motor healthy... maybe blowing out and re-oiling the bearings.

If the car is still under warranty (30 days) you can call Traxxas and see what they say. If it were me I would pull all the electronics and put them in a bowl of rice for a day or two. The rice will pull any moisture out of the electronics. I would also go over the car and re lube all the bearings and pivot points then put it all back together and see how it goes. My guess is it will work fine.

so it ended up being everything worked because like the website says it is waterproof even at the bottom of a pool.
the problem was when wet it for some reason decides it no longer wants to connect to the remote and has to be reconnected
thanks

Yeah, these R/Cs are really waterproof. I ran mine into a puddle and drove right out, no problems. Except for now, as it's about 4 weeks later, and the water still hasn't come out of the tires... :)

make 2 small holes on opposite sides of the tires and water will work its way out or just squeeze, for rear just pull trigger

Traxxas was smart when they made these thing. You can drive it completely under water and it well stop so you cant lose it under water. Also the reverse dose not seem to work in deep water. But other then that you can do what ever you want to them.

The motor/esc is waterproof. the rx box however is not. Jetlag2222 has a video of his ERevo VXL going in his pool. but explains the water-"resistant" rx box.

Well it dose say water resistant in the owners manual. But I wanted to see if it was water proof so I drove it into the pond and it seems to work fine. But there is one problem the have and idk y they do this, but it seams that the speed control ether catches on fire or just has no power after a while. My revo speed control caught on fire and my KB witch has never touched water just stopped working. We have had to send ten back so far with that same problem. But after we get the replacement one they are fine and no problems.
So is anyone else having this problem

Sounds like you were pushing it too hard. My Merv, Summit, and both KBs all took a beating kept on trucking.

I was screwing around chasing some ducks around with my merv and accidentally landed it about 5 feet deep in the lake, by the time I found it and dug it out, it'd been about 60 seconds or so. I threw it on the ground, squeezed the trigger, and drove it away. My tires were ruined from filling up with water, but the rest of the car was fine. lol. Lesson learned, don't try to sneak up on ducks.
Edit: Oops, sorry about the 5 month post bump, I'm new to this car and I've been reading all the threads tonight, didn't realize I was bumping an old thread, sorry.
