After having much trouble trying to get the water pickup to operate properly and subsequent calls to Traxxas Support, I decided that an external water pickup tube and larger tubing might correct the problem. I found www://kintec.com on the web and ordered a transom mounted water-pickup tube. I removed one screw from the propeler mount shaft. I had to drill out the angle mount to accomodate the Spartan mounting screw and installed same. I then installed 5/32 ID tubing using zip ties to ensure a tight fit to all water lines I also had to drill the pickup line tubing inlet in the transom to accomidate the larger tubing, making sure the fit was tight. Then I drilled out a larger hole in the water outlet. The Spartan runs perfectly. Where before the engine and ESC were hot to the touch, they are now cool and overheat slowdowns are a thing of the past.:)

Great job, maybe a link to the pickup you bought and some photos of the work? Thanks for your help.

A little late to the show, no offense. Did it do 50 mph on 6s? theres your real test. Good luck.
