Any 1/10 (12mm hex) wheels / tires should fit

at my local hard clay track, we mount an old axle in a drill, mount the tire, and grind off the treads on sandpaper. We have to use the stock tires, and the slicks work great on the clay.

These aren't slicks but I've heard they perform pretty good on concrete and asphalt.

I have never seen any short course racing slicks. You can make your own with a mini pin tire like Pro-line Holeshots. Either grind them down like rag5 said or just run them on concrete a few times and they will become slicks.

the stock bandit (rear)tires will become slicks after a couple of runs on concrete, imo this is a more fun way of grinding them down:)

You're looking for MC compound Proline or the AKA Wishbone SC Soft

If you can run 17mm I'd suggest GRP M01 Rally tyres. Get the soft compound...these will last longer than your Slash!
