Does anyone know of a 1/10 motor mount that will fit the merv? Tenbol is a little expensive.

The setup in my project truck is out of the brushed 1/16 Summit. It is a much cleaner setup than the Tenbol. I paid $13 for it on eBay.

Ive tried and tried to find the stock brushed summit mount on e-bay and cant find it anywhere. ehad... did you get the motor plate and gear cover also? Do you need it.?

Yes, I got it all. The motor plate and gear cover are different. The seller I found it from had two. I bought the first on buy it now within an hour of the posting. The second sold two hours later. The seller has not had any since. I should have bought the second one and re-listed it as a regular auction. I bet someone would have paid stupid money for it.

Same here, itching to get that mount. It's just not right having a bigger badder motor and esc and having it just sit there.

i have some questions if you don't mind ;)

1) i see you have no rear shocks. i hope motor don't interfere with them?

2) do you have a stock mini revo body? is it fit nice?

3) receiver cover fit with no problem?

4) with vxl motor plate you can move the motor to match gearing. what's up with this motor mount/plate? can you put different pinion/spur gears?

more pics would be great as well ;)

I think I can answer these questions.
1. No, he just had them off.
2. Yes, the stock body fits with a 1/10 motor.
3. I'm pretty sure you have to trim the receiver cover to fit a 1/10 motor.
4. Its just a different motor mount, and yes, you can use different pinions and spurs.
Correct me if I'm wrong ;)

2. Yes, the stock body fits with a 1/10 motor.

i mean with this exact motor mount. i know it fit with tenbol, but not with any gearing combination. there's a gearing options where the motor hits the roof :-\

3. I'm pretty sure you have to trim the receiver cover to fit a 1/10 motor.

look at this then:
http://www.traxxas.com/sites/default/files/7205_Chassis_overhead.jpg
i wonder if it's the same RX cover that used on VXL models?

4. Its just a different motor mount, and yes, you can use different pinions and spurs.

i'm not so sure about that, that's why i ask for someone who has it on hand.
look:
http://www.traxxas.com/sites/default/files/7207_3qtr_chassis.jpg
see that silver bolt that holds the motor's position
now look here:
http://www.traxxas.com/sites/default/files/7205_Chassis_3qtrFront.jpg
i don't see how you can move the motor here :-\

we need some answers from the owner

The receiver box is different, there is a thread showing both side by side I think in the rally or kb section. And you have to be able to move the motor, you can see it in the prints of the car.

1) It fits fine with the shocks. I have only had the revo for 2 weeks, and had not gotten that far with the build. I just set the motor in to answer the thread question. Pic with shocks installed and the wheels straightened up a bit: http://claspics.com/947/649244/1297385209-396.JPG.php

2) Revo body fits and it usuable, but the motor hits it just to the side of the antenna hole. The Summit body would work better. I might try the proline VW.

3) Stock receiver cover does not fit. Will need to get one from the brushed 1/16 summit or fiesta.

4) The mount is shaped differently, and I think it holds the motor up higher, and more in the center of the chassis. Not sure as I only left the brushed motor in it long enough to make sure it worked. You can move it to run different gears just fine.

Up close pictures didn't come out great, but I bet you can find more in the 1/16 summit forum. Click on them for full size.

The receiver box is different.
ok, you're right

i did some research

mini revo vxl:
http://www.traxxas.com/sites/default/files/7107_parts_100127.pdf

7024 Box, receiver (sealed)/ wire cover/ foam pads, upper & lower/
silicone grease/ 2.5x8 CS (4)/ 3x4 GS (1)mini summit brushed:
http://www.traxxas.com/sites/default/files/7205_parts.pdf

7024X Box, receiver (sealed)/ wire cover/ foam pads, upper & lower/
silicone grease/ 2.5x8 CS (4)/ 3x4 GS (1)

so we need a TRA-7024X ;)

and also:
revo:

7060 Motor mount, finned aluminumsummit:

7360 Motor mount, finned aluminum (for 550 motors)

TRA-7360 is a 550 motor mount

revo:

7077 Cover, gear/ motor mount hinge post/ 3x8mm CS with split and
flat washers (1)/ 3x8mm BCS (1)summit:

7379 Cover, gear/motor plate access cover/ motor mount hinge post /
3x8mm CS w/split and flat washers (1) / 2.5x4mm CS (2) /
3x8mm BCS (1) (for 550 motors)

TRA-7379 is a gear cover for 550 motor

revo:

7090 Plate, motorsummit:

7380 Plate, motor (for 550 motor)

TRA-7380 is a 550 motor plate

so finally, to upgrade our mini revo to 540/550 motor we need this parts:
TRA7380, TRA7360, TRA7379 and TRA7024X

now if someone find something on sale, post here a link please

That is the same list I came up with for the rally. And I haven't found those parts yet but I would love to get my hands on them if anybody can find them I would really appreciate it.

From Traxxas, saw someone in the rally section say that you could order from traxxas so I gave it a shot and should have them early next week.

So did you end up doing the conversion yet? I'd love to see some shots of it, and curious as to what system your running in it. I plan on doing indoor offroad carpet racing with it, the stock esc just began cutting out on my merv, so I figure why not put a monster in it... lol

I got everything but the receiver box so I had to saw off the top of the old one. I got the sv2/4600 combo and like it so far. I am working on trying different gearings and exactly how I want to mount the esc. I will post pics in the rally section probably by the end of the week.

I called traxxas a couple weeks ago and they said the mini summit brushed mount was available. Try giving traxxas a call if your lhs can't get the parts, you can buy direct from them.

Like So Cold said order from Horizon since they have everything except the RX box. I get the last parts on wednesday so I can fit in my Tekin 6.5t motor and the R1 ESC. Gonna run 3S until the LHS can get my 2S.

sorry for the question but....to fit an big motor on 1/16 e-revo with an titan 380(7105) do i have to buy the motor mount an heat sink of an summit(5607) with single 775 titan,am i wright???

Evgen
03-08-2011, 06:27 AM
no, you didn't read the thread.
you will need the following parts from 1/16 brushed summit (not the 5607 1/10 summit):
TRA7380 - 550 motor plate
TRA7360 - 550 motor mount
and optional:
TRA7379 - gear cover for 550 motor
TRA7024X - receiver box

or just get tenbol (http://thetoyz.com/cart/thetoyz_details.lasso?id=12314&cat_name=MINI%201/16%20REVO)

ok ok sorry my mistake,i think that the distance of the holes between Titan380 and Titan550 were different ... I´m looking for an mount kit that has 25mm hole to hole to fix the brushless motor...
