i was wondering if anyone knows of any cvd's that work with the proline protrac kit. i heard of people using the mip e rustler cvd's but they are still a tad short. can anyone confirm this?

i would use the mip x duty shafts. they are sliders just like the stock ones so they can extend a lot without problems. and they work with the longer 4x4 arms so they should work with the pro trac kit

I have MIP CVD with the protrac kit, the part number you need is 08123 -- they come off the E-Rustlers/Stampedes

anyone used the MIP Rear X-DUTY CVD Kit on their pro trac slash? If so how do they hold up? Looks like a lot of set screws to loose.

Nothing a little loc-tite can't fix!
People sometimes underestimate its strength.
red for things you want to be labeled as "permanently permanent", blue for those things that you just might have to get loose one of these days, green for the forgetful type, and pink for the wimps.

The best thing to do is not waste your money on CVD's at all. just pickup a pair of rear driveshafts off a 4wd slash, save a ton of money and enjoy. The 4wd shafts have plenty of beef to take the abuse any motor and wheel combo can dish out.

I just installed the MIP #8123 Rustler CVD's last night on my Pro-trac Slash 2wd. I can confirm that they are indeed a tad short. I could use 2-3 more millimeters of dogbone. They will work however when using a pretty low racing setup ie: the rear shocks mounted to the last or the second to last holes on the A-arms. I think the stock spacers don't work as well either, and some thinner washers would be helpfull for mounting properly. If you are setting up the rear "Bones Level" you should be just fine. I'll give them a good testing and report back any issues I may have, but as of right now I kind of wish I bought the Traxxas 4x4 shafts instead, half the price and will work better probably. Maybe MIP will come out with a longer bone, and I can just swap that part out since they do look much more svelte than the stockers. :)

I have MIP CVD 08123 on my slash, they never slipped out even though it looks like it's on the edge. I bash and race, never had an issue http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e212/grouchman323/P2070001.jpg

Has anyone tried using a longer dogbone with these. I have tried looking but I do not know what the pin size needs to be if it is a factor at all. I should have thought of this earlier since that is what I did with the rear center drive on my T Maxx. I'm thinking that about 3.5" or 90mm should work.

i think federally is on the money , the 4x4 cvd`s are the best bang for your buck .

What he said, I have them and I am running 3s, really hard on it. no signs of wear yet.

Ya mip normal cvds dont work with protrac. Too short, and will pop out. They suck anyways. Go heavy duty mip cvds. 10000 times better. The normal ones will break way to easy.

Go with the MIP X-DUTY's! Use PLENTY of loctite and run the heck out of them! Slash 4 x 4 axles are not much of an upgrade. I have twisted plenty of them.
