Just wanted to say Hi to everyone in the fourm, I am not new to the hobby but am new to electrics. I got a 1/16 summit vxl and I have lots of questions. The first of many is can I lock(or make it almost locked) both of the differentals or will it be too harsh on the driveline? And if I am able to lock them how do I do it? I am sure I will have lots of questions in the future but that is all for now.

You can lock or semi lock the diffs. Using heavier diff oil will tighten them up a little to a lot depending on how heavy of a fluid you use. To totally lock them people have used everything from Silly Putty to J&B Weld to fill the diff housing.

Yesterday I put Traxxas 500K diff fluid in my mini Summit and the difference is amazing. While not locked, the diff action is considerably slower than it was stock and now allows for some good climbing action.
