I noticed on my stampede there there is a lot of wheel slop on all 4 wheels. The truck is completely stock, and has been run maybe 10 times.
I thought the slop was coming from the plastic hex thing that the wheel connects to, but it seems that it is coming from the driveline somewhere

is there any common issues with this truck that i could track this down to

Pretty normal as thing settle.. Just pull everything apart, clean and lube, and put it back together. I noticed in the traxxas promo vids of the 4x4 pede that there was horrible "wobble"...even in slow-mo. I have alum casters/carriers and believe it or not I think it's worse!

its the bearing if you look at them while you move the tire, they move in the carriers, its from them getting hot and then turning it puts pressure and makes them hollow out, as for the aluminum carriers they are just not as tight from the start! what i do is just buy a bunch of stock carriers and change them out as they get bad! i know that sound stupid but it works! lol And also the RPMs' do the same as the stock ones so its not worth the extra cash if you just have to keep replacing them anyways!! hope this helps!! Also if someone tells you it only needs to be shimmed all that does is push the bearing together tighter and putsun needed stress on the sides of the bearings and wears out the seals!!

I have alot of experience with this from my Rusty!!

Yea same for me! When I first got mine I had no problems with any wobble at all! Now it seems as though after the horrible constant axle breakage even with a loose slipper clutch its wobbley!!! They sent me the x replacements for the rear and it seems like there has to be something else to solve these problems that I dont have to purchase due to the mass amount of people having same issues and the truck was 400 other than that I LOVE THIS TRUCK and its my first r/c! I spent a lot of money just on rears using a 3300 traxxas nimh batt!!! I dunno its getting annoying though even though they have been nice enough to send me 2 but ive bought about five so im loosing money! Also it seems like the tires are making the wobble because there starting to be unglued or something!!!

I upgraded everything to GH Racing alloy... Worse as well.

Let there be slop.. It really doesn't matter. It used to bother me as well .. I'd shim the arm/pins, etc.. Then I realized one day..Who Really Cares?.. Makes no difference to daily bashing.. the truck jams just fine. my firs set of glued tires/wheels woble like crazy..but they still dig just fine!

lol.. I shimmed my rear arm pins today and all four stub axles (added one more shim) but I think your right it'll likely make no difference... so you had worse slop after adding the alum caster blocks? you did both the caster and carrier hubs in alum? I was thinking about the hubs only all the way around.. hmm

Front Caster blocks and carriers and rear carriers. There are no caster blocks in the rear. And If it's not worse it is certainly the same. But like I said..It doesn't really matter, this truck is the ultimate Basher!

right no rear caster blocks.. and thank goodness at 45 bux a pop those upgrades are cheap.. I'll probably get the alum carriers only as I usually do that upgrade on all my trucks. if I end up breaking a caster block I reckon I'll go stronger on the replacement.

nice. until I go 3s I don't think I will need one... but I do like that larger bearing around the drive shaft..

That's why I bit..also cause I'm running 3s. looking for a good 4s that will fit...where does it end?
