Tires?

What's a good tire i can buy that will give me max traction for when i drag race my Stampede 4x4 on the street? I have lots of races lined up and these factory tires just isn't cutting it on the street.

How do they hook up on the street compared to the stick talons?

I see that pro line tire is a 2.2 size. I
I seen several other tires
For the street, including the HPI street hawg, but
I did not believe the 2.2 would fit on the Stampede 4x4. I
Would really like to get Pre mounted tire.

Me too but if you want what you like then gluing is the only way.. No big deal bro...It adds to the final enjoyment.

Also the m2k's 2.2 can be glued to the 2.8 rims if you cut off the bead lip... thx to the pave man..

Get a 1/8 buggy tire setup. You will get much more traction from a good buggy on road tire. Much easier to find pre mounts in this size, but you will have to get 17mm hub adapters making it a bit more expensive.

beetroot those street tires look nice!!!I just bought some badlands hope they have better grip when ripping through the grass! Anyone have them on there 4x4? as Im new to the whole r/c world and im 24 haha

The Badlands are AMAZING for grip. They wont last on pavement but are absolutely amazing off road... I have a set for my Pede 4X4... Ive been running Mashers so far but the badlands will come out when I do some serious snow bashing.

as for your ? the best tire that we use down here for "drag racing are 1/8 ofna foams 17mm. if we have to we use jacos!!

Ok, i'm going to a local hobby shop this week and will see what they have the OFNA 1/8 foam tires in stock.. I will also look for the 17mm adapters.

The badlands will come out when I do some serious snow bashing.

So far I only use the stock talons w/ chains for snow. I use #16 chain wrapped around the stock rim w/ 6-32 mm screws and stop nuts. On the 2x4 pede I'll throw a smaller slash kumho tire up front. Not that the front hits the snow too much..but it just bounces in the snow enough for light steering@ full throttle on 2s.

Ok, i'm going to a local hobby shop this week and will see what they have the OFNA 1/8 foam tires in stock.. I will also look for the 17mm adapters.
AKA adapters are the best for the money and stay on pretty well!! there like $28 for all 4 as for the other brands there like 20 a set of 2 and their not as good IMO anyways! `the ofna foams are good when you heat them up so keep that in mind when you first try them. oh and where them down a little to get all the crap of the outside! then if you need more grip out of them you can add some VHT(track bite) for 1x1 race cars. or some tire honey.. there's allot of ways to get it to hook up good just finding what works for climate and road conditions!! we do alot of 132' racing down here!

I second the suggestion of getting 17mm adapters (mine are Proline) and running 8th scale wheels/tires. Definitely broadens your choices, and the adapters and very quick and easy to install, so if you want/need to go back to original sizes it's a fairly quick change.

I'm picking up some AKA adapters today and a friend of mine has some slicks (either 1/8 or 2.2) that he's going to let me try out before buying them. I figure with slicks at all four corners, it should hook well on a flat surface.
