As anyone tried removing one or more head shims from their TRX-15 to increase power? I was considering trying it. Any info would be helpful.

This was discused before in this forum. If I can remember correctly traxxas decides at the factory how many shims a given engine will have based on its tested performance. You can remove them but I wouldn't just my 2 cents worth. Also look in the engine instructions I believe it says a little about it also.

i ported my engine & only have 1 head gasket & it screams. Traxxas told me they put three on there so it will start easy. Mine runs just fine.

Hey Guys,
After porting, I wanted to increase the compression a little more too, so I removed one of the thinner shims. The motor comes with one thick (not exactly sure the thickness) and two thinner shims. I am running the thick and one thin shim. I'm sure you can run one shim, just be careful not to run the cooling head too low, or you'll risk hitting the piston against the glo-plug.
