When I posted the question about adding castrol oil to my nitro, I was talking about the motor oil..the synthetic stuff you know 5w 30w motor oil. That is what guys are using at the track and say when they use it they get anywhere from 5 to 7 gallons of nitro before losing performance. They swear buy it and one guy has been in the hobby for 20 years. So I did put some in my fuel yesterday and fired it up, it's to early to tell anything so i'll keep ya posted.

nah...obviously some on that post are talking about something else ....hook on phfoniks http://cwm.ragesofsanity.com/s/net3/wink2.gif

motor oil... ie - castrol, penzoil...for engine...

castor oil...for constipation...

I know nitro fuels contains some amounts of castor oil for cooling effects. So it's a save bet

I've heard that putting motor oil (petroleum) to the nitro fuel content will blow the seals in the little engine.

Let us know if it's true...

some of us where talking about PURE CASTOR OIL, but afew, very few where talking about castrol. alot of guys add castor oil to their fuel to help keep the temps down, i do as a matter a fact. why add castrol? i would use mobil 1 over castrol, its been found that castrol doesnt use a pure synthetic base.

yeah let's end the confusion........
we are talking about adding CASTOR not CASTROL
castor oil you know the stuff you take for constipation, NOT the oil you put in your full size car or truck
go to a pharmacy and ask for PURE castor oil
some castor has additives which are not good for the little nitro engine

Every thing that i heard about castor is to use pure castor oil, so i guess if it works, well then again you will tell us, eh.

Well, I can't say that castrol motor oil in nitro fuel will hurt anything if you just use the right amount. 6 guys at the local track have been doing it now for years with no problems. The one guys is a manager of a hobbie shop and says that castrol will wear off the moving parts as soon as CASTOR OIL. He also says that he only recomends using is every other gallon because it lasts a while in the engine. He gave me a little example of how good the castrol motor oil is by putting some on an old crank shaft and then wiping it off. After wiping it off the crank shaft was still very slippery. This is good for high heat and cold starts. He then did the same test with castor oil and after wiping it off...the part was no longer slippery. He tell everyone to try the test on your finger and you'll see the difference. He also made a good point, he said you should rebuild the engine every 2 gallons no matter what if you are in competiton..if not..you can get an extra 2 to 3 gallons if you're just playing aroung in the yard. hey, other guys have tried it and say they have no problems. Just don't use alot and add a little every other gallon.
