I have a pro .15 head on my Nitro Sport, would I be able to take out a shim for more compression or will the piston hit the head?

don't take the gasket out. The gasket is used to maintain head to piston clearence so that the piston can make a full cycle without hitting the head or glow plug. if you take out the gasket it is almost guarenteed that you aren't going to be able to turn it over.

I only have 1 shim (gasket) under my head and there is no problem with clearance. It came stock with 3.

Have you removed the Carb restrictor yet?
If not it can be removed and the carb retuned to get more power and speed.

I am not trying to disagree with you Les, you do give great information, but I don't recommend removing the restrictor. You may gain high end performance but the low end will suffer. Since there is no low speed adjustment on the TRX .15 carburetor, the restrictor venturi's inner diameter acts as the low speed adjustment/setting. If you take it out, your engine may lean out on the low end causing it to overheat. Also, the power you will gain in the high end will also cause the engine to overheat with the stock Sport head. It would require the Pro head to keep the temperatures down. Have fun and drive fast! http://www.traxxas.com/ubb/wink.gif
