Anyone knwo where i could pay someone to port my eninge. I just want a LITTLE edge over my friends. Maybe from a 10 min run time to a 7. I have looked at my engine and the piston sleeve seems to cover half the port. A aftermarket sleeve would be another option. I want a chrome and not nickle sleeve, thanks.

Check out Nitorc.com, Eric Perez has a great modification for the .15 pro that might get you there. I haven't done it yet, but I plan too when I get my 4 tec running.
You can find Eric's article at:

I have read Erics article several times. I just do not know If I'm brave enough to do that to my engine. Maybe when I get my T-maxx I'll do it to my rustler.

3 things
1. I am almost broke, cant but new engine(140 not 70, grinding it with a dremel voids the arrenty)
2. no dremel
3.I wouldn't do the best of jobs

Folks, I don't know if I'd trust an engine mod to a guy named "poopie"!
Just my 2 cents...

It shouldnt be this way we should all be able to go to the hobby shop and buy a new engine already ported that way you know it is done right.

poopie is just a nick name dude. i have ported over 20+ trx engines.
i think traxxas should port the engines also. but that means prices would rise.

I agree we need some way we can buy aftermarket cylinder sleves and pistons. I wrote about this in another chat and want something thats a pop up piston type deal with already mild out cylinder sleve. Also a performance head that would be nice for traxxas to consider . There just has to be away to raise compression . Traxxas should sell cylinder sleves and high compression pistons for us race nutes but they probably want.

yea alot better about that piston thing, that would be better than buyng a special engine when we could pay a few bucks pop in a new engine, and when you hit the throttle watch the drool fall out your mouth.hehe

That's ridiculous. It is really a couple of hours of work. I know guys who are the best who will port a motor for $45 and they flat scream. I do it for fellow racers just because its fun. Motorman who posts on the HPI ported an .15 FE that makes about 1 HP. Take a look at his photo album.
