View Full Version : New NV Need some help!

Just bought this NV off Ebay. (My first boat). Ran it today for the first time. Have exhaust problem, the rubber tube is burnt and cracked. Supposedly this boat has very little time on it and if the tube is already bad this could be a serious problem. I saw somewhere a reference to a water cooled exhaust system but don't remember where I saw it. Also reading some of these posts I have seen reference to upgrading the cooling system. How do I do this? Thanks for any help.

first use a biger size of tubing for water cooling, on the new nitro vees there is another nipple tapped into the header and a t fitting in the water line comming from the cooling head this allows some of the water to go through the header and silicone tube cooling it.
Nitro all the way

Thanks NitroAddict, Can I buy this upgrade to the cooling system from Traxxas or do I have to do it myself?

Nvjock...go to an autoparts store and get some rubber tubing..(same material as a radiator hose) it's black and thick. Get two clamps...the kind that you screw down to tighten. Put a screw-clamp on each end of the tube, and your exhaust tube problems are over. It's kinda ugly but it works very well. The silicone tube traxxas gives you doesn't work. It cracks after a few tanks and starts leaking oil all over the hull. Goto this site for more helpful tips www.pirespreto.com/traxxas.htm (http://www.pirespreto.com/traxxas.htm)
