By looking at the previous posts on your question, it seems that a stock out of the box SS can hit between 20-24mph. Upgrading the motor to a 27T stock like Trinity's Paradox or Green Machine 3 will dramatically increase speed, and changing to an esc and good battery will increase top speed even further. Chunking the stock slicks for some treaded touring rubber like HPI treads will help handling.

Yes, LOW turns are alot more powerful. There also modified motors. A 27 turn motor is a stock motor. Any motor you buy will be faster than the stock stinger. I have the p2k pro for my rustler. It made it go alot faster! And stock motors are good because they have better run times than modified motors
