Has anybody out there tried this? I don't think it would be tough, maybe add some longer shock shafts in the front and a differetn body, maybe? Any thoughts from the gallery?

With some good rally tires .i dont see why you couldnt just go that way instead of messing with the shocks only to probably change springs for different stiffness for rallying..

You're gonna need more ground clearance. Longer shock shafts sound like a good way of doing this. With longer shafts, you should be able to get 1/2" or more of ground clearance.
I think a couple guys on the N4-Tec forum have done conversions - might try asking over there.

i converted my spare 4-tec into a rally car, but i have sold it now, and just have my 4-tec for racing!
it was good fun though!

Thanks for the input, I'll try the nitro side of things here. pooycow, what changes did you make to your 4-Tec to make it a rally car?

i put HPI wishbones on it, so it was 200mm wide, then i jacked the car up with some Tamiya alloy shocks, and put koyosho rally block tires on it, and a Subaru Impreza or Ford Focus bodys on it!
also i got pro ball diffs on the front and rear, ballrace set.
