View Full Version : maintence
i was wondering exactly how much of a difference in over all maintence, espically the engine, there is to the MB engine compared with typical r/c nitro engines?
what are the MB's overall maintence duties?

the buggy doesnt need much, the engine will last forever if the proper oil and mix is used.it does have bearings that you can oil.the spark plug would be the only thing that might need changing after about1000 hours of run time. if you crash it it more then likely will break something due to the size and speed of it. but if you read all the different posts you wont hear much about needle settings and glow plugs. ill almost bet that if i hooked it up to a 55 gallon drum of gas it would idle until it was gone.
thats good to hear how reliable the vehicle is overall. i like r/c cars a lot, and really look for ease of use- which is usually tougher with nitro powered.
how frequent would you oil the bearings?
i've read that the diff's were not adaquately lubed from the factory. do you feel the same? if so, what would you use?
is the body that comes with the car made of lexan or abs?
would you have to adjust the carb if a tuned pipe and/or aftermarket airfilter is installed?
will it adversely affect the car's reliability if aftermarket pipe and airfilters are used?

the bearings dont need much oil, just if they dont move as freely as when they first got oiled, just elevate the tires and see how well they spin.
the diff has lubrication from the factory, it is fine, if you want more or less action use a thinner or thicker grease.
the body is flexible and i think its lexan but abs means anti locking brakes to me so really dont know, it comes a solid color, body black, wing white.
any changes made to the intake or exhaust would require tuning for maximum performance with the upgrade, normally you go with a better pipe or intake filter so it could only improve the reliability. be sure to check on my post (making my engine better)
for updates on the pipe and air filter perfomance.
