View Full Version : sticky linkages

I ran my MB in the snow and mud and very wet grass. I noticed that the linkage and the throttle lever on the carb started to stick. The linkage would stick after i applied the brakes so that when i released the brakes it opened the throttle, but most of the time it let go quickly, but not every time. The throttle lever would stay stuck in the full open position. To fix it I used stuff called fluid film. It penetrates very well and stays much better than wd40 to lube

you might want to clean it when your done running thru those types of terrain, and check to make sure the foam element in your air filter is clean and covering the intake completely. sounds like fun though!!

well ive had that happen in the snow and muck also, stuff gets jammed behind the lever on the carb, depending on the strength of your throttle servo you could help it out with a return spring on the side where the the idle set screw is, there is a hole in that arm up top, i may be putting some lexan on mine as a shield for it when i find out the direction that the stuff comes from.
